I was born in a salty blue dusty yellow landscape, in the Mediterranean island, Malta.
My favourite activities as a child were:
jumping in the sea
going to the library
singing and dancing
grape picking with my family
visiting my grandparents and their goats
When I was 18, I studied Psychology for a year and quit. I wanted self-expression. I went to the UK and learnt how to make life as an artist. I lived in a creative playground for three years creating and collaborating with many artists. I graduated with a First Degree in BA Choreography and Visual Art Practices from Dartington College of Arts.
Between 2009-2013, I worked with a fantastic family of artists, the rubberbodies collective. We created performances, installations, site-specific work and books. We were known as revolutionaries in the theatre scene in Malta.
I worked as a Visiting Assistant Lecturer at the Dance Studies Department, School of Performing Arts, University of Malta and meanwhile completed a Masters in English (Modern and Contemporary Literature and Criticism).
I then wanted to discover the world. I went to India and later to Mexico. Immersed in the surreal spirit of Mexico, I felt there was no need for theatre. I instead was called by the wilderness of the land, its flavour and people. In Chiapas I co-founded Jangala, a chocolate-making company, and worked as a creative manager, creating products, workshops and fostering communal learning around bean-to-bar chocolate.
I reached the famous mid-life crisis and with that came another chance to rewrite my life. I studied restorative and yin yoga, massage, body mind therapy and most of all 'my inner self'. Since 2020, I have been studying Gestalt psychotherapy at Escuela Gestalt Viva Claudio Naranjo, Mexico.
These life steps have led me to become a performer, choreographer and bodywork therapist working in theatre, performance and community settings. My creative and therapeutic work aims to honour human emotion through movement, the body and the connection to the places we inhabit.
